After danger of frost has passed, sow in well exposed warm ground. Cover with 1 inch soil. When plants are 3 inches tall, thin. Rich soil preferred, but will survive poor soil.

Seed Spacing: Sow Butternut Squash seeds roughly 6' apart in rows keeping rows approximately 6' apart.

Nutrient Care Instructions: Apply SUPERthrive once per week. Soak in solution of 1/4 tsp per gal for 15 min. or longer depending on size and type.

Don't cut winter squash from the vine until firmly ripe (when you have a hard time making a dent in the shell with your thumbnail). Harvest squash before hard frost.

Extra large butternut squash.

"We purchased a pack of seeds last year 2025 to plant in our raised beds. Due to lack of pollination we failed to produce any fruit but the vines were healthy. This year I planted the same seeds (2025) with different results. Our largest squash is nearly 2 ft long and the bottom half is nearly the size of a basketball. And it still has a month left to grow! I don't know if this is normal. But we are going to enter it in the County Fair. I'll let you know what happens. Cheers"

"Super clear instructions, very easy to plant. My 7-year-old planted them and we've been watering them and it's been about 7 days and they're all sprouting. We can't wait to have butternut squash! We waited until the last frost and these have been doing great outside in a sunny spot. They'll probably be ready to transfer in a couple more weeks! Grow your own food, it's not hard even with small spaces. You'll love it."

"To start, I was not able to plant these as in my area it's still to cold to start them. However, the seeds look very healthy and if they're similar to the cucumber seeds by this brand, should be very easy to sow. Fun to grow

"We were expecting large butternut squash, 12-18" 8-12lbs and got 24" 25lb giants. Female flowers came on late and no fruit matured to the cream colored hard outer shell at 4 months. Just cut the first one up, a month after it fell off the vine from it's own weight, and it was solid thru the neck with seeds and stringy bits in the bulbous part like a pumpkin. Great seasoned and roasted."
