Hollow, thin leaves of chives have a delicate flavoring similar to mild tasting onions. Chive seeds germination time can take anywhere from 15-21 days. Chopped chives are wonderfully delicious in salads and for flavoring soups and omelettes. Sometimes used for edging flowerbeds due to their attractive, clover-like blossoms.
