Proper watering is the key to success in establishing young plants! With targeted, at-the-root watering, your soaker hose drip irrigation system is ideal. Place your custom cut hoses exactly where you need them to get water right to your plants. Water gently drips out of the black soaker hose and onto the ground at the base of your vegetable garden, flower beds, shrubs, or trees. Set up your system by snaking the path you design with the green garden hose for where you don’t want water, and the black soaker hose in the places where you do. It’s that simple!

Getting Started Tips

• Lay your hose on level ground for the most even distribution.
• Avoid slopes or hills.
• Place the soaker hoses 12–24” apart so you don’t overwater.
• Cover the soaker hose with mulch to cut down on evaporation.

Instructions

• Step 1: Begin your installation at the water source by attaching the faucet adapter to your outdoor faucet. Connect the faucet adapter to a quick connect coupler — this will be the starting point for your hose pieces. The green garden hose is for where you do not want water distributed (e.g., around your plants or under mulch). The black soaker hose is for where you do want water distributed (at the base of your plants).
• Step 2: Start with the green garden hose. Cut to the length needed to extend from your water source to where your soaker hose will begin. To connect the green garden hose to the coupler, unscrew the black cap from the coupler. Thread the hose into the open clamp end (insert it as far as possible to discourage leaking). Thread the black cap back on and tighten.
• Step 3: After you have the desired length of green garden hose, cut the black soaker hose to the desired length, weaving in and out of plants. Connect the cut end to a coupler, just as you did with the garden hose.
• Step 4: Continue cutting the desired hose lengths and connecting with couplers until your custom system is in place. To end a hose run, use an end cap with coupler, which is a one-sided coupler.
• Step 5: Turn on your water and test your system. Adjust as needed.
