Redleaf Ranch: What's Growing in the Garden

In Episode 6 of the 2025 Garden Get-Together, Brian from Redleaf Ranch gave us a look at what was thriving in his garden — and let’s just say, it was a big year for squash.

After harvesting garlic from one bed midseason, he dropped in a few squash seeds just to keep the space growing. What came next? A full-on squash jungle, with vines spilling out in every direction — and one of the biggest squash he’s ever grown.

It really was the year of the squash, and it’s easy to see why. But the rest of the garden wasn’t quiet, either. Volunteer tomatoes popped up in all the right places, and sunflowers added bright, cheerful touches throughout.

Even with a few challenges, the season brought out the best in what his garden could offer — peace, abundance, and a few surprises along the way.

Keep your beds active. Empty space in the garden is full of potential.

After harvesting his garlic, Brian put the bed right back to work, and ended up with one of his most rewarding harvests.

Abundance isn’t just a goal — it’s a rhythm.

Brian’s garden wasn’t tightly planned, but it responded to care, observation, and trust. Ferry-Morse seeds helped fill in the gaps, and the rest followed.
