Instructions Chevron Forward

Sow directly outdoors in full sun and well-drained soil. Plant 2 seeds every 2 inches. When seedlings are 3 inches high, thin to stand 4 inches apart. Harvest when tops begin to bend. Dig onions, dry in the sun a few days, then store.

Planting Depth: 0.25 - 0.5"

Seed Spacing: Sow onion seeds roughly 3" apart in rows, keeping each row approximately 18" apart.

Nutrient Care Instructions: Apply SUPERthrive once per week. Soak in solution of 1/4 tsp per gal for 15 min. or longer depending on size and type.

Fertile, moist soil enriched with compost is best for onion production. Onions ward off many insect pests around lettuce, cabbage, and carrots. Use thinnings as green onions.

They are still growing

"I have not been able to grow them completely yet to harvest but they are getting there. It should be coming soon when I'll be able to harvest these onion. Texas grano. It's been really easy to maintain it. It's a little bit difficult to make sure they all germinate, but I haven't been able to germinate about 85% of the seeds that I have been planting. I cannot wait to be able to harvest. So far I have not been able to taste the onion so I'm not sure about flavor. As far as pets resistance, I have been trying to keep it isolated from getting any pests."

"Quick germination process. It took me about 2 weeks for the seed to germinate. The packaging looks good and you get more than enough seeds in a pack. I can save some for the following year. All but 2 seed that I germinate sprouted, and this one is usually hard to sprout. Very happy with my seeds."

"These seeds came in just in time for our garden. It took a couple of weeks to produce sprouts, but they are finally coming in after a month. I'm excited to see what it produces. I was also elated that the seeds were organic. I would definitely recommend this product to others."

"Unfortunately, these seeds came a bit too late for me to start them for outdoor planting in my area (zone 6a). They have pretty lengthy days to harvest (115), and needed to be started indoors mid-March, which was not when I got them. So I started them in my aerogarden. I got growth fairly quickly there, much less than the 12-14 days germination the packet stated. I’m hopeful that if I keep them in a planter, I may get some onions, but I also have onion slips. I probably won’t get the seeds again, just because the days to harvest is so long for my zone."
