Grandpa Ott is a very old morning glory variety that has dramatic dark purple flowers with a red star. It has been cherished by gardeners since the 19th Century for its deep color and vibrant blooms.
Its leaves are mid to dark green and heart-shaped, a strong foliage for the trumpet-shaped blooms. They flower in the early morning, from summer until frost. Morning glory blooms are a signature feature of any garden, delivering a vibrant splash of color each day.

After danger of frost, sow outdoors. Cover with 1/4" soil. Nick seeds and soak overnight in water. Thin when plants are a few inches tall. Does not transplant well.
