These Buttercrunch Lettuce seeds will produce All-America Selections-winning heat-tolerant lettuce plants!

Buttercrunch Lettuce is a slow-to-bolt butterhead variety. Its compact heads contain heaping layers of deliciously crisp, thick green leaves. A cool-weather crop that you can sow outdoors in spring much earlier than other, less frost-tolerant plants.

This lettuce variety reaches maturity in roughly 65 to 70 days from the date it was sown, so be sure to keep track of when you planted your seeds. When harvesting Buttercrunch Lettuce, you harvest the entire plant.

Sow directly in the garden as early as the soil can be made fine and loose. Plant seeds every 2 inches, covering firmly with soil. Thin to 1 plant every 12 inches when seedlings are 2 inches tall. Harvest the entire head at maturity.
