Instructions Chevron Down Chevron Forward

In cooler climates, plant from spring to early summer. In warmer climates, plant from fall to spring. Select a sunny spot receiving at least six hours of full sun daily. Consider adding light compost or topsoil to the site to provide seed-to-soil contact for germination, especially if sowing into an existing grass lawn. Sow seeds at the recommended rate and gently rake them for good seed-to-soil contact. Keep soil consistently moist until seeds sprout. In hot weather, water daily. Expect a period of establishment that can last from one to three growing seasons. Allow plants to flower and reseed to maintain the lawn and support pollinators. Enjoy a diverse, colorful lawn that supports pollinators. Less water, fertilizer, and maintenance are required compared to traditional lawns.

Easy like it should be!

"Packaging is great -sturdy and doesn’t come apart like other bags on the market. I really like the mix in this particular product. I’m not a green thumb but this was easy - lay it down and water it in! Easy! I did this in a planter first to see how it would come up. I would purchase again."

Beautiful flowers

"Ferry Morse has always provided great gardening products and this is no exception. I tested a sample of the product in a small section and there were plenty of flowers to brighten my garden and attract pollinators. I love that the packaging prevented the seeds from getting wet prematurely. One thing that I failed to read (user error) is that this seed mix has grass seed mixed in. So be sure you are ok with that type of grass before using."

Yard looks great

"It took a while to grow (obviously) but the flowers came out nice. The flowers make my yard look and smell nice and the wildflowers are good biodiversity. I like the small packaging."

Good amount of seed!

"Easy germination on these seeds! Great mix of plants, love that some are native to our general region. Threw seed out everywhere our Bermuda died and with all the rain it’s germinating well!"

Beautiful alternative to regular grass!

"I recently received and used the Ferry-Morse Flowering Grass Alternative Mix and I'm very happy with it! This 1lb bag has a lovely blend of wildflowers, fine fescue, and clovers, which makes for a colorful lawn or ground cover. It's easy to plant, and I enjoy seeing the flowers bloom. This mix looks great and supports local pollinators like bees and butterflies. I highly recommend it for a unique and beautiful alternative to regular grass!"

Sustainable, promising, blooming soon.

"Most of the seeds have germinated beautifully, and I’m looking forward to seeing them bloom soon. The mix feels like a sustainable, low-maintenance alternative to traditional grass. There’s no noticeable fragrance yet, but the packaging was simple and efficient. I love the versatility—perfect for pollinators and patchy spots in the yard. So far, a promising start!"

So pretty

"These Ferry-Morse wildflower seeds are beautiful! We planted them in our garden in early spring and they are finally sprouting! I love the color, and how many bees they have attracted!"

Erinj98 7. (5/5)

Nice

"We just planted our seeds and they have already sprouted. I like the variety of flowers in this mix. The instructions were very easy and we can't wait to see the flowers grow."

Great mix of flowering lawn seeds

"The Ferry-Morse Flowering Grass Alternative Mix is the perfect blend for an “alternative garden”. The back of our yard comes to a slight slope into a wooded area and isn’t really “usable”. A mix of grass (fescue) and wildflower is PERFECT for this area. There are 8 flowers in addition the the fescue (about 62% of the package is flowers). The germination is 86%… so I’m hopeful we’ll have a mix of colorful flowers and clovers pop up soon!"

A waiting game

"This came in a small plastic bag. I cut it open as it was not resealable. I basically dumped it into a 5x5 raised garden bed, so it spread messily. Now I wait for more April showers. My bees are ready! The amount in the bag was more than I expected so it seems like I should get a lot of flowers."
