Sierra Gold Cantaloupe has a very small seed cavity in its 6 inch diameter that makes it ideal for serving in halves. Its sweet and juicy golden flesh is high in vitamins A, B, and C. These plants are also tolerant to powdery mildew.
Use this melon as an edible bowl by cutting in half, removing the small seed cavity, and filling with other chopped fruits.

Start seeds indoors 4 weeks before transplanting outdoors. Caution: Take care not to disturb the roots when transplanting. Or, sow a few seeds over a hill 9 to 12 inches tall and 2 feet across. When plants are 3 inches tall, thin to 3 plants per hill. Use a balanced fertilizer to increase yield.
Cantaloupe is ready to harvest when it's golden-beige, it has a distinct aroma, and it slips easily from the vine.
