In cooler climates, plant from spring to early summer. In warmer climates, plant from fall to spring. Select a sunny spot receiving at least six hours of full sun daily. Prepare the planting area by removing sod and weeds. Sow seeds by broadcasting—evenly hand-scattering seeds mixed with a carrier material like sand or peat moss. Or, in cold climates, consider frost seeding by broadcasting seeds over snow-covered soil on a sunny, late-winter day, leveraging the melting snow to settle the seeds into the soil. Sow seeds at the recommended rate, ensuring good seed-to-soil contact. Keep soil consistently moist until seeds sprout. In hot weather, water daily. Expect a period of establishment that can last from one to three growing seasons. Allow plants to flower and reseed to maintain the garden and support pollinators.

"What a great bag of seeds! Plenty to cover all the bare areas around my chicken coop to make it prettier. The amazing thing is that I didn’t even prep the soil— I literally just scattered the seeds on top of the dirt and watered it once on Day One. I didn’t water it again after that and started sprouting about 5-7 days later. It did rain lightly about twice during this time.
