Thyme is hard to sprout
"The instructions on the ferry morse thyme I bought stated sowing to 1/4th inch depth, they never came up. I had to check gardenning articles online which said the seeds should be top sown, and not covered, because thyme seeds require sunlight to germinate, after adjusting to top sown, I got 2 sprouts out of around 50 seeds, I have them in starter pots indoors. Watering is a challenge, any flowing liquid buries the sprouts (they are tiny and seem to take a long time to grow out of this stage), online articles suggest a spray bottle instead of a watering can and that seems to do the trick. Sigh, they are still tiny. . It's been weeks and they have yet to sprout secondary leaves. Insert a thyme/time joke here."
