After all danger of frost, in a sunny location, sow 5 seeds spaced evenly over a hill 9 to 12 inches tall and 2 feet across. When the plants are 3 inches tall, thin by cutting all but the 3 strongest seedlings per hill. To avoid weeding, mulch heavily around plants and in the rows.

Planting Depth: 1"

Seed Spacing: Sow Early White Bush Scallop Squash seeds roughly 4' apart in rows.

Nutrient Care Instructions: Apply SUPERthrive once per week. Soak in solution of 1/4 tsp per gal for 15 min. or longer depending on size and type.

Suggestions Chevron Down Chevron Forward

Pick summer squash early and often. Not picking will stop the production of the plants. Ready to harvest just after blossom falls from fruit and fruit can be easily dented with a thumbnail.

No germination

"I picked up this seed pack at my local Home Depot. I have waited weeks and this seed has not germinated at all! I planted just about the whole packet in my germination tray, and all my other seedlings have come up by now, but no scallop squash :(. I have checked on some of the seeds and it doesn't look like any roots have come out. I'm super disappointed because I was really excited to try this kind of squash!"

100% germination from 8 planted

"Smallish garden -- planted only 8 seeds from the packet individually in starter pots. All 8 germinated quickly, and are looking quite hearty and robust under the grow lights. They'll be moved to the greenhouse shortly, and planted outside mid-March. (average last freeze date around here) Looking forward to a productive harvest . . . and also hoping the seeds I didn't use from the packet will germinate almost as well next year."

"Thanks for the seeds. Haven't used this year, but plan to use nest year."

Healthy seedlings already!

"Seed packs came quickly and I already have seedlings germinated in small cups that look very healthy. Can't wait to get them in the ground!"
