After all danger of frost, in a sunny location, sow 5 seeds spaced evenly over a hill 9 to 12 inches tall and 2 feet across. When the plants are 3 inches tall, thin by cutting all but the 3 strongest seedlings per hill. To avoid weeding, mulch heavily around plants and in the rows.

"The Squash is said to start planting in late May - June so thatÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s exactly what I followed! I have large planting beds and I put the seeds in the soil that had nutrients for the plant. The flavor profile of the squash is said to be high in vitamin A and best when eaten early. The plant has a high pesticide resistance to the common leaf feeders however keep an eye on the plants to catch any signs of infestation early on just in case."
