Plant from spring to early summer. Select a sunny spot receiving at least six hours of full sun daily. Prepare the planting area by removing sod and weeds. Sow seeds by broadcasting—evenly hand-scattering seeds mixed with a carrier material like sand or peat moss. Or, in cold climates, consider frost seeding by broadcasting seeds over snow-covered soil on a sunny, early spring day, leveraging the melting snow to settle the seeds into the soil. Sow seeds at the recommended rate, ensuring good seed-to-soil contact. Keep soil consistently moist until seeds sprout. In hot weather, water daily. Annuals will bloom the same year they are planted. Allow plants to flower and reseed to maintain the garden and support pollinators.

"I received a 1lb bag of the Ferry-Morse Cosmos Mix Bulk Flower Seeds free from Ferry- Morse and Influenster in exchange for my honest review. In the last few years, I have really gotten into gardening. I love how blooming flowers can transform my yard and give my home more curb appeal. In the past, I have tried many different types of seeds with subpar results. Many seeds I have used in the past have required a lot of special care to bloom in my chilly Northeastern climate. That is not the case with these seeds. Despite the especially chilly (frost warnings in May) rainy spring we’ve been having, these seeds have taken root and are beginning to sprout with little to no special care. I don’t have flowers yet but the growth that I do have is much further along than I expected. This big 1lb bag of seeds was easy to open and spread in my flower beds. I used one bag for 3 fairly large beds. I am impressed with the growth that I have seen so far and I am looking forward to seeing my flower beds bursting with the pretty pink/purple cosmos mix flowers in the upcoming weeks."

"I just planted these in the Michigan soil today - I shared some with my neighbor as well, as she is my plant lady and we both have a love for flowers. I am absolutely thrilled to see the outcome when these bloom. I’ve never had cosmos myself but they are gorgeous!!! They will be all along the side of my house.
