This mezcarita is a  smoky, garden-driven twist on a classic margarita. Fresh tomato brings a subtle sweetness and body, basil adds a bright herbal note, and mezcal gives it that signature smoky depth that takes it somewhere way more interesting than your standard cocktail.

Ripe tomatoes add a natural sweetness and a smooth texture, while basil brings that fresh, slightly peppery finish that makes everything feel balanced.Add lime juice and a touch of sweetness, and you’ve got the base of something that feels bright and layered instead of heavy.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz fresh squeezed tomato juice
  • 4-5 cherry tomatoes to garnish
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 1.5 oz Mezcal
  • 1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
  • .5 oz maple syrup
  • A pinch of sea salt

Ingredients

Juice 1 large garden-fresh tomato for your tomato water base

Muddle fresh basil with the tomato water and maple syrup in a shaker to release juices and oils
