Instructions Chevron Down Chevron Forward

In cooler climates, plant from spring to early summer. In warmer climates, plant from fall to spring. Select a sunny spot receiving at least six hours of full sun daily. Prepare the planting area by removing sod and weeds. Sow seeds by broadcasting—evenly hand-scattering seeds mixed with a carrier material like sand or peat moss. Or, in cold climates, consider frost seeding by broadcasting seeds over snow-covered soil on a sunny, late-winter day, leveraging the melting snow to settle the seeds into the soil. Sow seeds at the recommended rate, ensuring good seed-to-soil contact. Keep soil consistently moist until seeds sprout. In hot weather, water daily. Expect a period of establishment that can last from one to three growing seasons. Allow plants to flower and reseed to maintain the garden and support pollinators.

Some blooms appeared, must be patient to see other

"I sprinkled these wildflower seeds in a bank of brush behind my house to add some color to it because it wasn’t practical for me to try to clear all of it out. I figured what better way to make the area look better than to add some color to it. I planted them about a month ago and so far some purple flowers have appeared. Have not seen much other color yet but I’m going to be patient. Perhaps some of the flower seeds are more robust than others and those are the ones that bloomed already, or maybe they are the only ones that made it through. Time will tell."

Great value and quality!

"I am so excited to plant these! Finally a great sized bag for a great price. Spring seems to be nonexistent in New England this year, so we will be planting closer to summer this time, but they include great instructions which you can head to with a quick scan of the QR code. I love this mix as it’s all flowers I know will do well here in MA and all the pollinators will love!"

Large quantity of seeds!

"They are starting to grow! I’m excited to see what I will end up with. It got warm late in the season so I got a late start on planting. The packaging was great. They really gave a large quantity of seeds. I still have plenty to plant more in another space. Overall I’m happy with what I received!!!!!"

A great value!

"Quick germination with these guys!! And a fairly good germination rate, it seems. I really love the variety in this mix and the clear labeling around what is in it, planting it, and volume. I'm looking forward to seeing what eventually blooms!"

Exceeding Expectations—Even in Rocky Soil

"I’ve been really happy with the Ferry-Morse Northeast wildflower Mix so far! I planted it in two very different spots—one raised bed with good soil, and one rougher area where I just tossed seeds onto rocky ground. In both places, the seeds germinated surprisingly well. The raised bed is about 3 weeks along and already showing healthy growth with a dense spread of seedlings. Even the patch in rocky dirt (just 2 weeks in) is sprouting—I honestly didn’t think I would be able to get much to grow there, but it’s really coming to life. It gives me hope that this mix is hardy and adaptable. The packaging is cute and cheerful, and the directions were easy to follow. I can’t wait to see the blooms and find out which wildflowers come up. I love that it supports pollinators like bees and butterflies, and helps promote local biodiversity. So far, this mix has exceeded my expectations."

Great variety!

"This is a great option to plant a wildflower garden. There are so many seeds and 13 different varieties. It’s nice to have an option like this when you are not sure where to start. So much better than buying the mini seed packets."

Nice, big bag

"I have two empty garden beds in the front of my house and have been wanting to plant a variety of flowers. I decided to do the chaos gardening method and scattered them all over. I planted yesterday and I’m excited to see the results. I will update once I have some growth."
