For the finest onions, seed Walla Walla Onion seeds directly outdoors in full sun and well-drained soil. Plant 2 seeds every 2". When seedlings are 3" high, thin to stand 4" apart. Harvest when tops begin to bend. Dig onions, dry in the sun a few days, then store.
